The foundation is looking forward the 5th Annual Zach Tucker Golf Scramble being held on May 7, 2010. This event promises to be an afternoon filled with laughter and some exciting competition as we work to bring hope to more area families while celebrating the beautiful, courageous life of Zach Tucker. Volunteers, raffle items and sponsors are always welcome, please contact Sherry Tucker at sherry@givinghopethroughfaith.org or by calling 685-6773. Stockings of Hope 2009! The Christmas of 2006 was one of the hardest we have ever had to face. The holidays can really magnify the emotions of grief when you have lost a loved one. We were desperate to find joy as we celebrated that first Christmas and decided we could do that by trying to help others. We initiated the Zachary's Stocking project and asked friends and family to help us fill his stocking with gift cards to be distributed to area families that were facing the challenges of cancer. The project was an amazing success, leading to the formation of this foundation! With each new year, the Stockings of Hope Project has grown. This simple act of filling Zach’s stocking has turned into something that has grown in ways we could have never imagined! Each year with this project we are excited to recognize those individuals and organizations that have contributed over $1,000 during the year. This special group has earned the name of “Zachary’s Hero” because of their generous and many times continuing support of our foundation. Thank you to EVERYONE once again for helping us bring the HOPE of Jesus Christ to many, many more families battling cancer! Soccer for a Cause! font size="2">The first annual Zach Tucker Memorial Soccer Tournament took place August 15 and 16 at the Valrico Soccer Club fields with great success! A spirit of giving surrounded the event as 16 teams played one another in preparation for their up coming season. The event fulfilled a desire in organizers, KC and Michele Van Der Luit's hearts to provide funds to the GHTF Foundation for families battling pediatric cancer. A well known coach and trainer in youth soccer in the Tampa area, Coach KC holds special memories in his heart for Zach how played many games under his direction. "After watching Zach battle cancer and seeing all the challenges he faced, we wanted to do something to help in his memory." Over $4,400 was raised at this inaugural event! The Van Der Luit Family plans to hold the tournament again in August 2010. GHTF would like to give a special thanks to everyone who participated and especially to the Van Der Luit Family! March 1, 2010 Announcing The 5th Annual Zach Tucker Golf Scramble at a New Location! We invite you to get ready for the 5th annual Zach Tucker Golf Scramble at our new location of the River Hills Country Club in Valrico, Florida. The fifth year will be packed with more golf fun than ever before. There will again be 36 teams in this year's tournament with two foursomes starting on each hole. Players and Teams will be placed in tournament as payments are received. Spots fill quickly so make sure to get your registration and payments in as soon as possible.
