Stockings of Hope 2008!

The Christmas of 2006 was one of the hardest we have ever had to face. The holidays can really magnify the emotions of grief when you have lost a loved one. We were desperate to find joy as we celebrated that first Christmas and decided we could do that by trying to help others. We initiated the Zachary's Stocking project and asked friends and family to help us fill his stocking with gift cards to be distributed to area families that were facing the challenges of cancer. The project was an amazing success, leading to the formation of this foundation! The Zachary's Stocking project was expanded in 2007 to be the Stockings of Hope 2007 project. We were blown away with the results of the Stockings of Hope 2007 project last Christmas. Through the generosity of many, our foundation was able to raise over $20,000! This money helped to touch many families throughout Tampa Bay.

We are excited to launch the Stockings of Hope 2008 project because not only will it help families battling cancer, it will also help those facing the loss of a loved by providing a way to remember their loved one in a joyful way while helping others. Organizations or families are invited to initiate their own stocking drives to collect donations or gift cards that will benefit the Giving Hope Through Faith Foundation. These stockings can be in Zach's memory or dedicated to someone else close to the hearts of the organization or family. Holiday parties, church groups, class projects and office gift giving are perfect opportunities to fill a stocking. The foundation will provide the stocking and giving envelopes if needed. Gift cards, cash and checks are all appreciated donations and are fully tax deductible.

A family that is dear to our hearts has already initiated their stocking drive in memory of their sweet daughter Sierra Kesler called Sierra's Stocking (see butterflysnrainbows.blogspot.com). The Kesler's are one of our foundation families who watched their brave princess Sierra courageously battle ALL (leukemia) and receive her heavenly healing on May 3, 2008.

Announcing The 4th Annual Zach Tucker Golf Scramble!

We invite you to get ready for the 4th annual Zach Tucker Golf Scramble. The fourth year will be packed with more golf fun than ever before. There will again be 36 teams in this year's tournament with two foursomes starting on each hole. Players and Teams will be placed in tournament as payments are received. Spots fill quickly so make sure to get your registration and payments in as soon as possible.

Once again we are humbled and amazed with the generosity we experienced at the 2008 Scramble. Over $31,000 was raised - enough to clear our waiting list of ten families and provide us funds for ten more. Thanks to all for many generous contributions!
